Why use VOIP?
Being connected to internet you would have been hearing and seeing the word VOIP and your sitting there scratching your head as to what it's all about... Well here is a basic answer to the question, in short it is a technological advancement in what can be done with your existing broadband internet service to be able to make telephone calls using the same connection as you do when you send email or browse the internet. VOIP is an acronym for Voice Over Internet Protocol, or in more common terms phone service that uses a Broadband Internet connection.
If you have a fast enough and reliable broadband internet connection you can get a phone service delivered through your broadband connection instead of using a service supplied by your telephone company.
Some people use a VOIP service to compliment their existing phone service, since our VOIP call rates are lower rates than your exisitng telephone service, we recommend that your keep it in cases of where you need to dial 000 as VOIP will not work if there is no internet connection (ie power failure). We do support 000 calls from our voip services.
Lower Cost
Makeing telephone calls via a SBD VOIP connection costs a lot less than an equivalent service from normal telephone provider. For example how much is it to call your family or business associates interstate on your exisitng telephone service, when on a SBD VOIP service all you pay is 11c untimed to any fixed telephone in Australia (and yes that also includes tasmania) why would you pay your existing telco by the second when you can talk for as long as you want for 11c and there is no need to wait for 7pm our local/national rate is available 24/7.
Is it reliable?
When voip was introduced back in the early to mid 2000's, users asked why should we use VoIP when it just isn't reliable, especially during power failure?
Now, if your power goes out, we can offer you a service that will redirect your calls to a secondary phone number, if your system is detected to be offline. And with that advancement, the directed call can be transferred to your required alternative number such as your phone number and so on.
We also have equipment for home and business users that if the power does go out it will connect your call via the normal phone line (example calling 000 during a storm you can still get help if your power or internet service fails)

Why would you use your normal telphone provider who can only give you or your business a limited number packages, but with our SBDC Voip telephone packages we can tailor make packages to choose from, according to your needs.
